We read the licence
before we write the review.

Licence, verified

We look the operator up on the public register and print the account and licence number on the review.

Withdrawals, timed

We request a payout on a verified account and record how long the money actually took to arrive.

Support, tested

We ask real questions at awkward hours, including who holds the licence, and report what came back.

Limits, in reach

Deposit caps, time-outs and self-exclusion should take two taps. We check how far they really are.

Review 01 · Straight lines, short queues

RedAxePlay

RedAxePlay is built for people who resent friction. The lobby loads in a single column, the cashier sits two taps from anywhere, and the small print for every promotion is linked from the promotion itself rather than buried three menus deep. It will not win prizes for warmth, but it is one of the tidier white-label builds on the UK register.

Review 02 · Room to look around

Winzila

Winzila takes the same licensed foundations and spends its effort on breadth and atmosphere instead of speed. The live-dealer floor is the widest we found under this licence, the loyalty ladder is genuinely legible, and the .co.uk registration is a small but real signal that the UK audience is the primary one rather than an afterthought.

The thing nobody tells you

Both brands sit on one licence.

RedAxePlay and Winzila are separate front ends for the same regulated business. Both appear on the Gambling Commission public register as White Label domains under ProgressPlay Limited, account 39335, operating licence 039335-R-319313-020.

That has a consequence worth knowing before you register anywhere: a self-exclusion applies to the whole licence at once. Exclude yourself and both doors close together. There is no sibling brand to drift to, which is exactly how the scheme is meant to work.

How a review gets written

Three rules we do not bend

01

Register first, opinion second

No brand is written up until we have found its domain on the Gambling Commission public register and confirmed the relevant activity is Active. If we cannot find it, we do not cover it.

02

Our own money, our own account

Deposits, verification and withdrawals are carried out by us on ordinary accounts. Nothing about our testing is arranged in advance with an operator, and no operator sees a review before it is published.

03

The bad parts stay in

Every review carries a drawbacks list, and commercial links never remove a line from it. If a payout took three days, the review says three days.

Frequently asked

Questions we get most

Is StoneReview a gambling operator?
No. We are an editorial publication. We do not accept deposits, hold funds, run any form of wagering, or process any transaction. When you follow a link from one of our reviews you leave this website and arrive at a brand operated by a company licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Your account, your money and your data are held by that licensed operator, not by us.
How do you make money, and does it change what you write?
Some outbound links to reviewed brands are commercial. If you open an account after following one, the operator may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. That funding pays for the desk. It does not buy a score, a ranking position or a favourable sentence, and no brand sees a review before it is published. Our full arrangement is set out on the Disclosure page.
How do I check a UK licence for myself?
Search the Gambling Commission public register at gamblingcommission.gov.uk. Look up the operator name or the account number and confirm that the exact domain you are about to use is listed, and that the relevant activity shows as Active. Every brand we cover carries its account number, operating licence number and a direct register link on its review page so you can verify our claims rather than trust them.
What does "White Label" mean on the public register?
It means the brand is a front end operated under another company's licence. Both brands we cover are White Label domains under ProgressPlay Limited, account 39335, licence 039335-R-319313-020. The arrangement is normal and openly published. The practical points are that the licensee holds your funds and answers complaints, and that a self-exclusion applies across every brand on that licence at once.
Why is my withdrawal taking longer than my deposit?
Almost always because identity verification has not been completed. UK-licensed operators are required to confirm who you are and, where relevant, that funds are affordable, before releasing a payout. Upload photo identification and a recent proof of address on the day you register rather than the day you want to withdraw, and most of the delay disappears.
